I’ve been in Malibu for the past few days at the Pepperdine Lectures. I’ve been coming here since 1997. When we were living in Washington state, this trip often meant the first exposure to sustained sunshine in months. Now that I’m coming from Tulsa, SoCal sunshine isn’t that big a deal, but there is still tremendouse warmth to be found here on this campus during these lectures. I’ve heard great messages from some of my favorite preachers and from some guys I’ve never heard of before. I head back to Tulsa tomorrow so that I can be fully prepared to help Caleb celebrate his 3rd birthday on Saturday. Now that he’s three, maybe we can get him out of diapers. We’ve tried to lead him out of Egypt twice already, but life in the wilderness was more than he and we could bear.
Right now I’m looking at the Pacific Ocean. It’s blue.
