The Emerging Church of Christ Cohort

Are you interested in planting a church?

Are you a youth minister looking for ways to engage a postmodern world within a modern congregation?

Do you desire to find the harmony between being unconditionally missional and retaining Church of Christ core beliefs?

Are you an emerging leader who desires to navigate real change within your congregation?

Are you looking for likeminded people, true peers, whom you can encourage and who can encourage you on your journey?

Did you attend the Tulsa Workshop and want a practical way to have a Both/And kind of ministry?

Do you find yourself reading emerging church leaders and wonder how it plays out in your current and future context?

Are you looking for a safe context to ask hard questions about faith, life, and the church?

The Emerging Church of Christ Cohort is for people who believe that God is calling them to be missional leaders in their churches.

Many Church of Christ leaders are looking for something beyond the one-day seminar and are seeking training, interaction, and reflection with a small group of leaders. This is for leaders desiring to learn in community.

I would love more info. We have had similar discussions at our church after Tulsa. It can seem crazy and scary but is it a Spirit thing? I thnik it is. We better listen to Him!

Yes, it’s a spirit thing. The spirit of the world convincing so many shallow-soiled hearts that they have to be relevant in order to bring people to Christ. And you have to have a taste for beer, too!

The Bible still says SEEK and you will FIND. God is ready to receive sinners, but what the Emerging church fails to note is that Jesus didn’t immerse Himself in the company of sinners in order to be relevant, but in order that they might be saved from their sins.

Who did Jesus teach, speak words of wisdom to, and heal? Those that followed Him, called on Him and came to Him. True, He traveled all over, but He told the seventy to leave the cities that rejected the kingdom of God and shake off the dust of your shoes as a witness against those who reject the truth.

The Emergent churches (to which I was atracted initially) make the mistake of shaking the dust off their shoes concerning the Bible. Relevancy is self defeating. The gospel is foolishness and a rock of offence to those who will not receive it.

You cannot make saints out of anyone who doesn’t believe the Bible is the truth and that Jesus is the ONLY WAY!

So, what are you thinking?
