Regrets of the Dying

A couple of weeks ago I followed a link on twitter to a post written by Bonnie Ware. After years of taking care of people about to die, she lists the five most common regrets she heard from the dying.

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.
3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

This list gives me a couple of things to start working on immediately.

What about you?

  1. I would eat more Blue Bell ice cream.

  2. Azalee Tatum says:

I am 81 years of age. At this point in life, my spirit is so entwined with the Holy Spirit that I don’t know where my spirit ends and the Holy Spirit begins. I feel the touch of Jesus at any given moment. Life is a journey and we learn as we travel. I subscribed keenly to Philippians 4:6 at the age of 38 — be anxious for nothing. Philippians 4:8 has been influenced me many years, Early on I did not wholeheartedly practice Philippians 2:15 — do everything without complaining or grumbling. At this season life, I let the word of the Lord dwell in me richly complemented by the joy of the Lord as my strength.
May the Lord bind us together with his love.

So, what are you thinking?
